Leading the Charge, Battles of the American Revolution

Major battles of the American Revolution is part 13 of “Revisiting the American Revolution History,” my lead up to the Fourth of July celebration. There were over 25 major battles in the American Revolution. From the first shots at the Battle of Lexington and Concord in April 1775, to the Battle of Germantown in the winter of 1777, the British had the superior fighting force. However, the Continental Army had some significant wins. In early 1777, Britain had two main armies led by General Burgoyne and General Cornwallis. As Burgoyne’s army marched south, they extended their supply lines to the point of running out of food and supplies. Eventually, Burgoyne was forced to surrender at the Battle of Saratoga.
